Free Resistance Power, organized.

Nexus-8

Multi-city (Seattle · Portland · Bay Area), USA · Founded 2024

Nexus-8 is a coalition of tech workers, engineers, and platform employees who refuse to keep building the machinery of fossil capital. We organize across eight West Coast cities — from Seattle to San Diego — pressuring our employers to divest from oil and gas contracts, refusing client work that accelerates extraction, and building solidarity with frontline communities.

We are not a charity. We are a worker-power project. If your company is a fossil-fuel contractor, your tech labor is climate harm. Nexus-8 helps you organize your workplace.

What we do

  • Workplace organizing. Cohorts of 6–10 workers from the same company meet biweekly to plan internal pressure campaigns.
  • Contract refusal pledges. Public letters from engineers committing to not work on oil & gas pipelines, ICE infrastructure, or surveillance contracts.
  • Skill-sharing. Free trainings on union basics, labor law, doxxing protection, and secure communications.
  • Frontline solidarity. Direct support — tech, funds, bodies — to tribal-led pipeline resistance and climate frontline groups.

How to join

If you work in tech in Seattle, Portland, Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Las Vegas, find your local cohort through our coordinator. Bring at least one coworker. We do not organize alone.
